GROUP ASSIGNMENT :)
Group - JAM
Members - Jessica Boquiren, Alexandra El-Alam and Mariel Carlos

We have to create an information system for the school. Sir suggested creating a school website for students and teachers.
Me and my group decided we want to create a website that involves year 11 and 12 students applying for school leaders.

Today our group brainstormed on what we want to include in our Website for the school
-A form for students to apply for a role. Here they will be able to fill in the form and the form will be sent to the principal or to whoever is responsible. This is replaced with a written letter to the pricipal.
-A link to the information about the requirements for each leader. E.g the requirements for IT leader, Sports leader, cultural leader ETC.
-A link for the students profile and campaign, for students who what extra information in each student that is going to try out for a leader. This is replaced with the idea of viewing the student's profile that will be viewed in the library.
-A link to interviews and videos of past leaders with what is required for each role.
-A Login. For only students that can vote (year 11&12&Teachers)
-A Poll. So students can vote online

This is what we brainstormed today

So i decided to keep testing the search engine
and its REALLY amazing
i needed to quickly check something for math
the circle equation (i think it was)
and then i wasn't sure if i was writing it correctly on the search bar
but it worked anyways
this is what a searched up

x^2+y^2=1
and these were my results

AMAZING
then i decided to search up my birthday
and it gives you these results

so i am 6129 YEARS OLD :O!
AMAZING
i would totally use this search engine to look up anything for my classes
AMAZING :)

Search Engines
Saturday, June 6, 2009
3:25 PM
In the IPT blog
Sir posted up some new search engines. One is called 'Bing'
I still prefer using google
its more simple. Not too much graphics as Bing has a bit like the chaning backgrounds
where google is just a simple background
But it has the same links like images searches, maps, videos etc
Some of the tools are more sophisticated looking like the map section on the Bing, in terms of the buttons. And when you search on maps it has like the google earth program already without downloading.

The Other search engine was Wolfram. I really like this one. Its really different :) and looks really useful. It has like sub links which look really useful like mathamatics, physics, eduational websites, weather and much more.

The image below just shows the subheadings i was talking about before. I thought the math one was really interesting.
This is a picture of one of the math functions. And this is for Triginometry. I haven't tried it because it kind of looks confusing cause you have to write down the signs and stuff :). But this is a picture of what was already on the text bars. So it kind of looks like something that can help you with your homework i rekon :)

My Final Mark book :)
An overview of my work :) -With Annotations

---- Evaluation
This assignment i found difficult at first. Maybe some more time where we work as a class to learn to basics of how to use spreadsheet (basic macro/VBA codes).
But once i got a little more help by my teachers and peers i understood what to do and used a bit of my knowledge from last year to create my macros (but most are found on the internet). The assessment task was easy to understand and straight forward on what we should have for our assignment. We usually get a Critera, but i couldn't find the one we needed for this assignment?

I learned that Visual basic was involved in excel (AHHH VB again) , learned some new codesthat might help me in future visual basic based assignments -.-

Requirement Report
8:55 PM
Requirement Report

To Create a Teacher Mark book that can be used to record student’s names and their marks. The mark book will automatically give grades to the student’s assessment mark based on the Grade Key and have the averages, standard deviation and highest mark of the class.

The Data inputs for this system is the students information, this includes their First name, surnames, Assessment marks and Student’s Class. The Subject class is also inputted into the information system

The information processors involved in my teacher mark book include.
• Collecting – Collecting the students name, Class and Assessment scores.
• Organizing – Organize students names (alphabetical), classes and subjects
• Analyzing – Creates graphs using the data inputted.
• Storing and Retrieving – Mark book can be saved and accessed later.
• Transferring and Receiving – File can be sent to other computers (if computer as Microsoft excel)
• Processers - Can manipulate the assessment scores into their grade scores. Calculates class average.
• Display – Can be viewed on screen and can be printed out.

The Data output of the teacher mark book will be the Grades Automatically given when the assessment marks of the students are put into the system and provide assessment task averages, standard deviation and highest mark.

Online Markbook?
8:32 PM
I was checking out some example of markbooks
and i came across a teacher who put up a noticed that he created his markbook so that others can see it.

It was an ONLINE MARKBOOK?

I thought it was a great idea as students, teachers and parents can view the markbook themselves and see the grades, marks and information of each student without printing it on paper. Its private so all information is safe as there is a password that is given to each student (each password is differnt for each student and the passwords are different for each student)

I was watching the demo and it was everything that we've been doing in class. The sign up page involved creating the markbook so you input what kinda of grade key you would like to use.
:) It looks really easy to use, you can put comments for each student, you can put class weighings, inputs students class progress (so what class work there done or haven't done so parents and students know whats missing), has a calander , the days there away, late or present to an exam or class and more :)

Its pretty reliable because even though its on the internet you can export the spreadsheet (into excel or other spreadsheets) and you can print out the markbook or an individual student

Anyways my markbook isn't anything like this one. But its working fine and no bugs :D! But i thought it was a great idea to create an online markbook that a teacher can use to communicate with students and parents when it comes to school work :D!
